I went to the dealer. Everything was great until the following day. Today. (01/28/2026). They called the IRS to see how to process this and were told this isn't a thing and that they SHOULD NOT PROCEED! PLEASE HELP! I don't want them to think this is a scam which I'm sure they do by now because of some entry level IRS employee. 😭😭

You could try going to one of the dealerships that have taken the 1099A. Also have you tried contacting the accounting department directly and talk to them?
