Can you give a close friend, who you trust, a 1099 to purchase a house on your behalf?

I am looking to purchase a home using the 1099-a process. I would like my close friend to be my trustee and representative. Would he be able to receive the funds to purchase the home on my behalf? Also who should he (trustee) contact to help calculate all extra costs to purchase the home?
